I need some info on parameters that you can set.

I have a 1991 series 60 ddec 2. The cruise will not set any higher than 65 mph on the speedo. Actually 68mph on the GPS. I know that I can get someone to change that setting.

What I would like to know is can I also set the HP at the same time. Is it just a simple setting change or is there more involved? Right now it is set at 430 HP and I know these 12.7 motors also came out at 470 HP.

Basically, what is involved in making this change?

Did you try and call up a Detroit shop? I know with the newer trucks they just plug into the ecm and make changes.

I'm not 100% certain but I think you need dealer access level of the Detroit diagnostic program. We had the limited version of that program and IIRC all we could do was read the datastream and clear codes.

Not yet. Just setting out feelers for what this would cost me. It is not a new truck, it's a 1993.

    BoostedTeg Thanks this.

you could contact 1 of several people who can reprogram the e.c.m. although the talk of the topic is not banned on google, ebay or 50 other source sights, the e.p.a, apparently bans talk of it here, wish I could be of more help, but under gag order. :crybaby:

I thought you said it was a 1991 engine?
