Help me find insurance company for new DOT/MC

Do you know why that is?

 

I have been searching since january. I have gotten 4 quotes so far. 2 from national indemnity. both of them were the lowest almost 12k. 1 mill liability, 100k cargo, 45k truck and trailer, personal inj and uninsured and under insured motorist. new dot. another lady i called gave a quote on the spot for 14k. I like that since the other agent took 2 weeks to get back to me. I might go with the higher quote because the service seemed better.

 

My situation is even tighter due to my lack of experience.

 

Yup Im right there with you . I have a lot invested and the insurance is my last hurdle , gonna pay whatever it takes to get running for this year .

 

I just said the same thing earlier this week! I'm too deep to turn back now!

 

Its not been easy . Yes turning back is not a option , for the the guys looking to get your own authority have a nice sum saved up .

 

I'm not too sure. I have talked to brokers around my area and several have told me that. They said that they are too much of a hassle to deal with. I guess some things have gone south in the past and they got burned and won't use carriers with that kind of insurance. I have even seen load postings on the board that will say in the comments, no progressive or OOIDA. I'm not sure it happens often but I have seen it here and there.

 

Wtf? Berkshire hathaway sells houses here in PA. WTF?

 

It could be an important factor, the service of your agent. When you find loads, you have to setup with brokers, who you deal with for the first time. They require you, most of the time, to include them as a certificate holder. The agent is the one who oversees that and they had better do it quickly as the brokers won't hold that load for you too long. If they don't come back with the quote for two weeks, it is not a very promising agency.
