We're sitting at a balmy 86 right now. (1625) Have the house opened up. Likely have to fire up the old AC in the next few days. Turned on the irrigation water and flushed the system a few days ago.

It happens sometimes. I really don't mind that, what I mind is when it goes from summer to winter overnight. Usually, our falls are the nicest time of year here.

    Trip on this.

We have a huge amount of data centers here in Phoenix. Middle of the desert right. Those things put out ENORMOUS amounts of heat, and have to be cooled to keep the computers running properly. They are all these MONSTER sized servers right, buildings full of them.

Well they use ENORMOUS amounts of water in cooling towers, the hugest waste of water there is, for the chilled water systems to provide AC to cool them.

    Stay with me now.

I ask this engineer that designs them why they build all these here, and not back east where they climate is better, and water is more plentiful.

    Answer: Power

They use even more power than they do water. And we have Palo Verde Nuke Plant / The largest in the U.S., so we have almost unlimited source of electricity and it's very cheap.

It emits 0 green house gas.

    Let the debate begin lol.

Yup, 3740 S. Signal Butte Rd. in Mesa, delivered a copy machine here on Friday also delivered one about a year ago place is still under construction.
Asked the guy what are you building here, he said it's a data center this building will be full of servers. So I asked him what one do you think the building will be complete? He says probably in about two years.
Seems in two years they'll probably need newer technology.

Enjoy the weather out there while you can, it probably doesn't have anything to do with radiation rain coming off the Pacific
    ....just a thought

Yeah, talked to the kid in Mesa the other day. He was talking about his AC bill starting early this year.

Lots of people said it. Those of us who remember the fad of global cooling, what was that, back in the '60's?
Of course the climate is changing, Otherwise, we'd still be in an ice age.

First off, no debate from me on this. It is what it is. I lived in Phoenix back in the early '70's. Moved down from Steamboat Springs, CO in March. (Darn contracting companies...)
It took me about six months to get back home to Denver...But I digress.
I'd wandered down to the Imperial Valley by the late '70's. El Centro in July. Hot. Miserable. Take a trip over to Phoenix to see family. E-GODS! It was even worse there! I was glad to get back to El Centro area.

Unless you are a Jehovah's Witness. They ain't never gonna die, just ask my ex-wife. Even though all of the evidence is around her every day....sheesh.....:biggrin_25513:

I was at home yesterday in Indianapolis. Woke up, got ready for church and it was 25 degrees. Had to defrost the car.

Now I'm in Kansas City. 89 degrees, I'm out of hours in broad daylight and I'm stuck in a truck with no AC. I went from extreme cold yesterday morning to extreme heat.

At least I have a company credit card. That Motel 6 over yonder is lookin mighty inviting.
