I am 6 months old in my experience in the trucking world...
I started with CRST and lasted 28 days...
Quit interstate and went instrastate because I could not hack the "OTR."
I got a gig locally performing END-DUMP, COMMERCIAL BIN ROLL-OFF'S, 24ft-48ft FLAT-BED and bobtail to the port's for 20ft-40ft-45ft containers...
Now, I am again local but, in a sleeper truck, little nervous because I haven't driven one since CRST...
Any TIPS for me would really help, thank you!!!
NEW 6 months CDL class A driver, HELP!!!

Don't hit anything.
Use all the space that's available to you when setting up to back, even if you think you don't need it.
Study and learn the Driver's Handbook on Cargo Securement
Don't do anything stupid.

I went from a cascadia sleeper to a cascadia day cab and honestly I don't think there is really all that much difference. Blind-side backing is easier of course because of that back window, but day to day driving, turning, straight backing, etc., it's pretty much the same old ####. You'll be fine.

Just wondering... manual to auto? Seems most daycabs carry automatics anymore. I could be WAY wrong.Robert.paul.shumway Thanks this.
