FF Cams might have been effecting recruiting also.

The inward cam was always recording, but it was on a loop. 15 seconds at a time and then it records over the previous 15 seconds and so on, until an event triggered the recording, at which time that 15 seconds would be saved as well as the following 15 seconds after the event.

Otherwise it wasn't being watched or reviewed. I know a few people who have been in the sleeper and received calls for them to review video of them following too closely though, which is triggered by the front camera somehow.

I would personally tell them to go #### themselves if they called me while I was in the sleeper, and review the footage later for self coaching.

At any rate, glad to see them gone. I look weird as hell when I drive and reviewing videos of me saving people's lives by braking too hard when they cut me off or something like that and my stupid facial expressions that went with it, was getting a bit old lol

They definitely were. It was the final straw for a good number of long time drivers and big reason why some experienced drivers refused to consider Swift.

The office staff got tired of seeing videos of drivers picking their noses.

If this is true, then this is just a small example of the power we really have over trucking companies. They are NOTHING without us...and it sounds like this giant(Swift) is starting to realize that. Hopefully other companies will take notice of this.

I have been Off-The-Road for the last few years. I started looking into driving OTR again a month ago and talked to a Swift recruiter. Then I found out about the driver facing cameras!!!

I started questioning recruiters at a few companies about whether they have driver facing cameras or not. I have a few hundred thousand miles of safe driving experience and told all the recruiters that I would not drive for a company that puts a camera in my face. Whats the point of being OTR and having a job that offers independence if they are going to put a nanny cam on you the whole time?

I'm living proof. I took Swift off my list of possible companies to drive for. Now that they got rid of driver facing cameras, they're back on my list.

I drove for Swift a decade ago when I started driving OTR. I quit and drove for several other companies. Honestly, I had the best experiences at Swift and now that driver facing cameras are gone I'm looking to come back.

    Free Mason or Illuminati?
    Just curious. :)

Shooting the breeze, CB style, with a Prime guy (WalMart dedicated out of Maine) up 495 in MA 2 weeks ago - he rode with me the whole way, asked him his governed speed: 65.
So even Prime has turned it up, in some cases, to do the most common speed limit.

Awesome news. I kept putting them off because of the cams and crashes (The Double C's) but now they got rid of Driver cams. Might have to give them a second look. If they accept me that is. I missed a few times returning their phone calls and when I left a message they never called me back.

    RedRover Thanks this.
