I'm not advocating the usage of marijuana or any other mind altering substance while driving a CMV, having said that.... truckers should be allowed to ingest it while they're at home in the states where it's legal, it don't bother me none. Keep it safe and responsible as with any freedom.

 

Bison, that's not an issue when you think about it, what does become an issue is the lack of self-control that follows. OK so they use while at home, then if they are stuck somewhere else - say in a motel in another part of their state because the truck is being worked on - then they decide to use then, how can that be justified too? Then if they are on the road for a long time, but they have to use, then what?

It is better to say no usage at all then to allow it to creep into usage anytime.

Remember we are talking not about people who have a lot of self-control to begin with, not the ones who have self-control - or in other words the few who screw up, screw it up for all.

 

I hear what you're saying

I hear you, it's like alcohol some people don't care that there's a time and place when to indulge and it's not while operating a CMV. I've seen many a beer can in these truck stops. But many get away with it because alcohol doesn't stay in the bloodstream for too long.

 

I can't believe how many weed threads are on this forum! LOL.

We need a sub section called, "Weed: Redundant questions and answers".

It will never ever be legal for us....not even if we settle on another planet. Not even if we only had 10 humans left on Earth......9 out of the 10 would still know they don't mix.
