Why do these posts always end up having a relationship-quotient being dragged into them? No, I just put the app in, but still nothing to really hold my breath on. I'm poking around elsewhere and will surely have better strikes with other outfits. Until then, I'm just going to keep steaming along on the moo-juice circus until something better finally arrives.Lonesome Thanks this.

What I found at a young age.
Was that the grass may be greener, but you don't know where the fertilizer land mines are located. And you can be sure that they are there. For you to step in.Diggler and driverjoe1959 Thank this. -
Get yourself a plan and go for it. Best of luck to you. I know with LTL you will prob make more in a few runs than you will at a carrier like Werner running all week. Don't forget companies like Praxair hauling cryogenic gases, they pay pretty good. During the last crash I worked for a bulk flour company, didn't really like it but when others were parking their rigs I was hauling bulk flour and sugar to bakeries.bentstrider83 Thanks this.

A slight variation on that...

I don't really mind working long hours. It's just that with dairy pickup, the start times are always real inconsistent. It's either 4pm one day, or 10pm the next day, so on and so forth.
Reading over this extra board debacle, it's easy to realize things will be just as out of control there as it is when dealing with the dairy co-ops and these evil people known as dairymen.
I've been telling the dispatch and even the terminal manager that I'm willing to stay if I'm kept on strict shuttling, but that seems to always fall on deaf ears. Now bulk flour and other products that don't depend on the biological clocks of a live animal? Perhaps that is something to look into as well. -

I get asked often why I have such a positive attitude. My stock response is that I don't have time to be negative.
Part of that, is knowing. No matter who I work for there will always be things I don't like, people who need to be bleached out of the gene pool. And brown grass to walk through.
As drivers, we don't have to deal with too many people on a constant basis, like seeing them for 8 hrs straight. We get to see several people throughout our day, and maybe, just maybe. We can bring them a little light in their blackness by being positive and kind.
Not everyone can be "saved" but we have to start somewhere. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be religious here.
Just saying, that a positive attitude goes a LONG way towards how we get through our day and towards being perceived as positive. It helps our customers think that we are a good choice to continue working with, that they perceive us as being happy with our careers and work places, whether or not we actually are.
You only get one chance to make a good first impression. Make it a good one. -
Misery is contagious.
