I'd also like a source on these "great pay stubs". Lol. Just kidding.

We all know that's subjective and relative. No need to defend a statement proclaiming swift pays great. It's not how much you make, but how much you keep that determines how happy we are with our pay. Just couldn't resist a little fun.

    ;-)

I posted a 1700 dollar pay stub just last week. Swift company driver, 4 months experience. That week included a 34 hour reset and a day and a half spent waiting on a B service.

You get paid every week? That's pretty good.

So you earned $1700 in 4 days as a company driver. How many miles did you drive in those 4 days?.

    DoubleO7 and Toomanybikes Thank this.

    Hmm, let's see.

    4.5 billion miles
    600 DOT reportable accidents
    20k trucks
    30k drivers
    40k trailers

SAFER Web seems to disagree with you slightly. The miles are pretty close at 1.9 bill for 2016 or roughly 3.8 bill for two.
    However, that's with..

    17,819 trucks
    21,613 drivers
    ??? trailers

    As for accidents, we have..

    64 fatal
    666 injury
    1568 tow

And that's just reportable. That's the key word there. Sure, there's a police report when a Swifty takes a hood off at the truck stop but what about rims bent and trailer doors ripped off at shippers and receivers? There is not a single company in existence that wants more insurance claims or accident reports than absolutely necessary and you can bet your donkey there's a ton of little mishaps that got fixed or paid for without making it into the official statistics. I've worked for small companies and that was a fact of life, its going to be even more so for a company with 18k trucks and however many trailers.

Are there good drivers at Swift? Maybe. Its rumored a few exist. But you guys definitely earned your reputation.

I agree that Swift isn't as bad as many think but otherwise your post is load of bs.

    http://safer.fmcsa.dot.gov/query.as...ry_param=USDOT&query_string=54283#Inspections

As of 3/23/17 Swift was involved in 2298 reportable crashes in the the last 2 years and is listed as having 21613 drivers. That means a little greater than 10% of their drivers were involved in a reportable crash in that time period, or 5% of their drivers annually.

As for the thread topic it's good to hear they got rid of the driver facing cam.

As for the inverters it's about time. Such a simple and inexpensive addition to the truck yet such a huge thing for the driver. In this day and age having power for a microwave or coffee maker should be standard fare.

People seem to like numbers and ratio's.

What I find interesting is that most of the truck related accidents I come across on the road do not involve a Swift truck.
They are other major and minor carriers or O/O trucks.
And yet I never see anyone siting numbers for those companies.
(Although I don't go into many other company forums, so I don't know how many of the same people are trolling on those.)

There was a point a few years ago that Swift trucks were getting pulled in to scale houses more because our safety rating had gotten too low. We were being inspected as a rule of thumb, not just randomly.

But in my 6+ years here, that was the only time. And it only lasted for 6 months or so.
(My own inspection helped to alleviate that problem, thank you very much.)

But if Swift equipment was as bad as many say, or Swift drivers, we would have many more problems with DOT that I seem to have.
I never feel singled out by the DOT because I drive for Swift. It seems just the opposite.
And if DOT doesn't have a problem, neither do I.

And yes, the inverters are a nice touch.
So is disabling the driver facing camera, even though it has yet to bite me in any way.

But I really wish they had left it in place.
The fewer drivers that Swift can hire means more miles for me.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.
