very nice.my dad drove K100's all thru my younger years. actually, until the T600 came out ('86?) i drive a '91 freightliner cabover. i like them too. can't imaging you'll have many problems with parts locating.
pretty sure you have fiberglass can corners on the front,i'd just repair them. the bags should be no prob,i got mine online, firestones, for like 80 bucks each.
hey,i put a forum together a couple years ago, then life went a little sideways and i forgot about as i was fiddling with it. if you coe guys wanna post on there i know i can post a lotta pics of mine and check in there a lot,and we can all help with parts and tech.

Because the aluminum will crack from all the flexing .
It wasn't used long because they could not take the abuse a truck frame goes through .
It is not a case of if it cracks it is a case of when and where it cracks . If run long enough they all crack . That is why we have steel frames today and not all aluminum frames .BigBob410, Toomanybikes and Mattflat362 Thank this. -
Nice score. Love those old cabovers. Strongly considering going that direction myself
Anyway, I was going to suggest Facebook for more resources and parts, if you use it. There's several general cabover groups and at least one group specific to KW cabovers. For example, someone posted a matching ladder set in the KW group recently and you'll see trucks being parted out occasionly. Like so..
SheepDog Thanks this. -
What a shame to be parting out that KW.
Go to a KW dealer with the last six of your vin and they can give you the part number for the air bag.
I believe there is an earlier and a later air bag on the AG100. One is taller than the other if I am not mistaken. -
That was my exact immediate thoughts! I had never even heard of them! Now I am just your typical jack of all trades red blooded American man....I know a little about a lot.....but even I know....KNOW...that aluminum frames are a bad idea for even a pick up truck!!
-
The one I can get has a parts truck that I can pick off of. Those parts may be wore out as well.I ask a guy down the road who works at cooper kenworth in Clinton. He was telling me that parts are hard to come by. Could be bs though
-
If anything like my 88 Pete 362 it is not BS.....some parts are obsolete and not in stock anywhere in the US.
I foresee eventually having a run of some parts made at my friends machine shop....slickWillie1980 Thanks this. -
I have a friend that runs one daily, the issue that they have are greatly exaggerated. His truck is a 280" wheelbase and has a 3408 in it as well.Roger McG, Diesel Dave, Adisiwaya and 1 other person Thank this.

Well I love the idea for sure!
Adisiwaya Thanks this. -
I had a 82 359 and some parts were rough to get with that let alone a cabover. There is a guy that runs a 89 k100 locally pulling a hopper and needed a cab jack for it. That part was unavailable from KW. Not sure what the man ended up doing
