Don't work for Sanimax. You will run overweight and way too many hours and their pay is a joke, not to mention it's disgusting. Horrible place to work, everyday you start work by climbing over dead pigs and walking through 6 inches of blood.

rward75, Lonesome and loose_leafs Thank this. -
Lol there is alof of metal things going on there...
You ever loosen the turnbuckles on a dumptrailer and have 20,000 pounds of blood spray out? I have hahahahah.
Also lost a whole load of guts in a parking lot because they never fix their trailers. I can't believe I did that job.Last edited: Mar 18, 2017

I'm pretty sure your work experience with Sanimax is turning out to be a song by Cannibal Corpse.

Hauling dead things will do that.
I'll never forget my first day there, I couldn't believe that I was at the point in my life where i was going to slaughter houses and taking their trash.
Gotta start somewhere... -

Here is something I have learned... and it took me a few lessons before I got it... It was a lesson that kept presenting itself to me...
What I learned is it isn't the company you drive for... the guitar you play.. the paints you paint with or the golf clubs you swing with... it is.. what you put into it...
Put a cheap gutar in a good guitarists hands and they will still play beautiful music... they will work around the limitations of the cheap guitar... put an expensive professional stage quality guitar in a bad guitarist hands and they still won't play better than their skill level...
When I took up a painting class.. there was this one student who had money and bought expensive professional paint and brushes... but, only put in a small amount of time into actually learning and developing the knowledge and skills to paint... another woman in class, was not as rich and was only able to buy her paint and supplies at cheap Walmart... but, she had a passion for painting and put her heart and time into learning... and the end of class we were all to submit a painting for a sort of show.. and yeah.. you guessed it.. the the painting done in Walmart paint on cheap canvas was amazingly beautiful and she took 2nd place... the lady with the best of everything.. her painting was not great.. bad tones, bad highlights and no depth.. even though her top grade paint had great pigment and body.. she lacked knowledge and skill...
The point is.. if you want to be a good guitarist you need to learn, practice and build the skills.. and one you do.. you can work with whatever guitar in put in your hands.. don't believe me.. check out the guitars that some of the old legendary blues players played.. Elizabeth Cottenso first guitar was a sears and robuck guitar... she was left handed but only had access to a right handed guitar.. so she had to learn and play with the guitar turned around and upside down as it was still strun for a right handed..
Same with painting.. a good artist can create and paint with cheaper paint.. they just work with what they have...
It is the same with trucking... you can start at any carrier and go on to become a successful well paid trucker... granted probably not at the company you start with.. but it is just a starting point.. and the rest is up to you...
And here is a truth that is heard to face... if you can't survive starting at a starter carrier.. learning and gaining experience... then you don't have what it takes to make it with a good company..
Seriously you can't play guitar above your skill level even on the best guitar.. you can't paint above your skill level even with the top of the line paint and supplies...
Those who succeed in anything.. playing guitar, painting, golfing, trucking... do because they put their time and energy into doing.. into learning, building skills, gaining knowledge... they don't put their time and energy into complaining that they don't have a good guitar, better paints...they don't blame the guitar, the paint or the golf clubs.. they work with what they got at the time, deal with and do the best they can with the limitations and pay their dues... which eventually leads to success.. a better guitar, better paints.. or driving for a good company..Cottonmouth85 and rward75 Thank this. -
I used to drive OTR long ago and far away... The idea of it is still kind of appealing. I work for the gubmint now fixing roads and bridges and right of way.. Yeah, I work for a local highway department. I get to drive trucks, dump trucks and equipment hauling lowboys and such. I also get to play with the toys
Like that thing in the picture there. Summertime is great, I ride up and down county roads in a John Deere tractor enjoying the A/C and the great sound system all while mowing the ditches and trimming trees at 4 mph...Nope, nobody supervising just me and the tractor and maybe another guy with his own tractor... Sometimes I just stop and shoot the breeze with a local farmer... I have thought to take my CDL and go get on the big road again but I couldn't stand being away from home more than a week at a time, if that. I miss it even though I've been doing this for 10 years but it's not the same out there as it was when I was on the big road. I make about $800 a week, full benefits, 16 paid gubmint holidays a year.. Get a sick day every month, got 60 of them stacked up now...lol. Lot's of vacation time... Man those large cars sure do look nice... Keep the stories coming. You new guy's just have to want it bad enough to get through that first year... God bless and stay safe.
