Which companies have automatics?

Howdy brother!
May is going all automatic by the end of 2017. When they take my 13 away is when I'll quit, they run 48 mostly no touch/drop and hook. You might actually get more home time with them being out that direction.
2kw inverters, bunk heater, fridge, TV,(you buy them at Wally world, they install)

Makes me wonder if May hires out of SE Massachusetts now What do they drive - Pete's? Freights? Volvos? Internationals? Would like to do coast to coast..long treks.

 

They have some Petes, Binders, and Cascadias. The Pete's and Binders are getting rotated out though. All I have been seeing come into the yard in Oregon (HQ) have been shiny new shakers with the Detroit's in them. They are building a new operating center in East Nebraska also.

 

What is a Binder? I've never heard of that brand of truck.

I drove a automatic and I liked it. Not trying to be a "supertrucker" just want to make a paychck. Automatic is fine for me.

 

International used to be considered a farm truck due to it being part of International Harvester. Back then they were commonly called "corn-binders".

I have nothing against the auto's, I think they are great for City P&D, short haul, and that type of stuff. But for long haul fuggettaboutit. I was hauling mail last xmas and we had a few rentals with them, for the short runs to the Post Offices, they were fine, but....... They got stuck way too easy on a little snow or lite ice.
I could not get myself unstuck because the tranny wouldn't let me get a rocking motion going, by the time the d4mn thing shifted, all my momentum was gone. Was in a muddy Walmart DC the other day, and with the 13, I was able to shake myself back to terra firma no problem.
