I have a local job at home that I would start Monday. No, there hasn't been anything communicated as far as getting me another trainer. When I asked I was told "we'll be in touch". As for homework, no I didn't do any. I went to a company that I knew would help me get my CDL and have been told over and over again to get away from them as soon as I could.
My CDL

They can't keep you from getting your CDL, but if you owe them money for schooling (I'm assuming they had you sign a contract) they can, and will, turn that debt over to a collection agency. If you don't set up a payment plan, and stick to it, they will wreck your credit.RollingRecaps Thanks this.

Yeah I figured they would come after me for that. Thank you though for answering.

Secret to CRE ... they organizationally dysfunctional and reactionary. They can move pretty quick, but you have to motivate them. Let the know that you are going to be heading to the bus station to go home if they don't have another trainer, a ride or bus ticket for you to the nearest terminal by the end of the day.SingingWolf Thanks this.

Why don't you already have your physical? If you're with the company that should have already been done unless I'm not understanding your post.Have you not drove the entire time?

Physical CDL. As in the actual hard copy of my CDLG13Tomcat Thanks this.

Oh OK I thought you meant physical and CDL.You might as well stick it out. You're getting a taste of what trucking is like. You'll be doing a lot of hurry up and wait thruout your career, either waiting to get loaded/unloaded, wait for loads and the dreaded brkdown.

Are they paying for your lodging???

Why do they ask for advice AFTER signing on to CRE?
x1Heavy, passingthru69 and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
You would be wise to follow the advice of those telling you to stick it out...
Let me put it this way.. you are at a fork in the road.. one way heads to better pay and more opportunity further down... they other way leads to less pay and less opportunity...
Which way do you want to go..
If you want you choices limited.. then leave
If you are hoping to eventually make good money at a old company then stay...
The problem with taking a local truck job so soon after getting your CDL and leaving training.. is that you will have zero... actually less than zero OTR experience..
Many new drivers take local CDL jobs right after getting their CDL. Then months later decide to go out on the road only to find they have to start all over.. with a refresher CDL class and go out with a trainer...
I am a recruiter.. and what driver recruiters do is weed through applications.. an applicant who left a company.. got off the trainers truck and quit has few choices.. between bad and not as bad options of companies to go with..
Also, $300 is relative.. meaning there are experienced drivers.. O/Os who won't even consider starting their truck fo $300 dollars..
Trucking can be a good career.. but, it takes time to get the experience and skills to get the big paychecks..
Which is why it is neve a good idea to start any career, or even switch jobs, with no money.. it takes time before the pay is good and steady.. so, you should wait until you have at least enough money to pay your bills for a few months, some money to live on, and some in savings for when #### happens..
