Why would anybody go there with 8 years experience? Is your record that bad? Geez, if you have a clean record, and are reasonably professional looking and sounding, why are you settling for this bottom feeder trash?

Hey now.. lesbian mothers are not the issue here...
Why with 8 years experience are you still swimming in the kiddie pool.. -
Agreed, nothing but short trips and they limit the weekly mileage. Half the loads get dropped or swapped out to cut miles on both ends.

According to their sirius xm advertisements, they are gold! Lol
DTP Thanks this. -
I give up immediately if they're too dumb to master a language (Elboy joint.... anyone remember that?). Odds are high they can't even master themselves, much less a machine.
Made it right to the end of orientation, eh?
Lol.Texas_hwy_287, Canned Spam and He is Risen Thank this. -
Yep. If you can't take the time to craft a sentence then I know that person is probably not one to rely on. I hadn't heard of elboy joint, but there was a post the other day about a jay break.Steel Dragon, Puppage and KillingTime Thank this.

I have decided to give a more detailed review of my 3 days there. Just to be fair. My problem started when I first showed up for orientation. They sent us for a physical. I failed. Sugar way too high. So back to Kansas City. Two months to get it down. Back for second try. This time no problem. Did the classes and such. I had by that time figured out that orientation is simply waiting for the drug test to get back. All else is BS. Listened to a older woman act really impressed with her power. Okay. Our styles clashed. Give her benefit of the doubt. Did the road test. Tester says I rolled back at a stop light. Again, maybe I did. So I had to go out with a "trainer". I admit, I am not a natural truck driver. I am a business man, banker, and engineer by training. Also a #### good fighter pilot. With that comes an attitude. It is hard from me to deal with stupid. Speaking of which, my trainer.
He leaned out the window at every intersection and made really embarrassing remarks to the ladies. And it takes a lot to embarrasses a retired Colonel. After 1 day he calls the company and tells them that I don't need any further training. Which is nice as most of the training I got was in the form of really racist humor that was just not funny. About 15 minutes after he called the company, he has me back up on a scale. The scale had curbs on both sides. He had me pull up and back multiple times and I drifted to the drivers side and put a very small scratch on the vinyl under the steps. You had to really look to see it and a piece of sand paper would take it right out. He called safety and started having a break down. I was let go and put out of the truck in the middle of nowhere.
Looking back, it was a long time ago, I wasn't nearly good enough to drive at that point. But my business and leadership skills were enough to know that you do not dump someone off in the middle of a small town in Indiana without first finding out if he had a way home.
I now have 12 years in. My skills I would put up next to anyone out there. I sometimes amaze myself at just how good of a trucker I am. And just as I am patting myself on the back some ####### tries to walk right between the truck in front of me and my truck. I slam on the brakes to miss him and all the stuff on the top bunk that wasn't tied down comes flying off. That is a actual true advent. Town was Beatty, NV and they let those #### donkeys run loose.
My point to all this is that I don't think it is possible to get an honest view of any company from just one persons experience. When we start out we feel we are lucky to have a job in trucking. In my case I was lucky. I really sucked. But I didn't give up. I have my own authority and I get good rates. Sometimes the brokers beat me, sometimes I beat them. Every load comes with me working to get a new customer. Now my own customers make up 15% of my business and the 24th of this month is my one year in business for myself date. I am not saying that to brag. I am saying that to point out if someone as bad at this as I am can make it so can you. Just don't quick learning and growing. In trucking, no matter what "company" you work for, you are self employed. Only you can decide if you are going to do the job in a professional matter and demand you be treated that way and are rewarded accordingly. If you are not happy change something.
I leave you with one thought. Jeffrey Dahmers' mother said to him, "Jeffrey, I don't like your friends." He said, "Fine, just eat the salad."dunchues, Skullman924, KillingTime and 4 others Thank this. -
That's funny
