How can you run for that low number. Ir are they paying mty miles also
I run %, but I'm a heavy haul trk.. -
I have run both. Both have their individual advantages. The biggest caveat is related to a percentage based contract. There have been and are companies that "skim", don't pay you the full percentage you contracted for, and totally legally.
Example. You lease to company A, pays you 90% of the linehaul, indicated on the freight bills they provided to you. to make the math simple: Load grosses $2.00 per mile on the freight bill, you get paid $1.80.
But, they also own a brokerage outfit that booked the same load charging the customer $3.00 per mile, getting their in house carrier (You) to haul it for $2.00. They get away paying their contractors far less money. Honest companies don't do it. Trying to figure out if they are is the hard part.RollinThunderVet Thanks this.
