    Quashing a "safety" measure?

Not a chance. There's too much money pushing for it.

Not to disagree, sir, but being where you're from I do have to wonder how you got familiar with L.A.

To your point though, we don't want new truck stops built. That's just a waste of land. Putting solar panels on it is far better.

They have ripped out a bunch of em in Tx. The older small ones mostly. There were several along eye 35 between Georgetown and San Marcos that were big ones. Ripped them out too. J hole people use em to deposit trash from home.

They were wise enough to get rid of the 1AM-5AM 34 restart provision due to it hampering productivity and increasing traffic in major cities. That's why I asked.

Let's see. Try to explain to the general(voting) public why you still want to keep HOS records with a pen, paper and a piece of carbon paper. At the same time the vehicle you are in has computing power surpassing the Space Shuttle of the 1980's. And every voter, indeed 75% of the people on earth have a device in their hand that was total science fiction as depicted in Star Trek of 1968.
There is no political upside for the Trump administration the change this regulation. If you want to work on the HOS side, the real culprit, that is the path to take.

There is one truckstop that burned, and that one was a favorite of mine. I cannot recall exactly what it was but the oppertunity to enjoy German and Some Austrian-Hugary regional food from that part of Europe on part of the menu offered was something I could not pass up sometimes. The old one burned and was replaced but the original floor was left as it.

Im not inclined to any particular race to be honest. I happen to be a foodie and when a truckstop cooks well and I go a thousand miles with one of their meals, it's real easy to show back up for more.

You will like Souix City. The car drivers are pretty skilled. Not always perfect but they understand big trucks. It's not "Much" of a city what with they do up there... but it's one place that has always stuck in mind all these years.

Oh yeah, I'm there once a week now. It isn't bad at all. Super boring drive but the drivers are fine and it's pretty truck friendly.

Trump is a business man. He should not have difficulty unerstanding if the disposal of mandate will create more revenue in terms of faster trucks. Ive gotten across PA in 3 hours or so with a dollar truck, that is way better than 8 hours.

My solution is dedicated high speed controlled access for new big truck models capable of 120-150 sustained. Possibly with Hyperloop assist to reduce gluttony on desiel. And a strict FAA style control tower every access point and passes as well as certian areas. It will basicially be a Interstate 2.0 grafted onto or built above the old one using the middle of the existing ones where possible. And there will be absolutely no cars allowed and no truckers who held a CDL for less than 7 years with anything less than a clean record would be allowed. If you can get up to 150 say in GWB westbound on 80 you can expect to put away PA in 2, Ohio in 2 and St Louis in about 4 Leaving a margin more or less against the 11 hour rule. If you took the Chicago water route you would be past it about the same amount. Then another 350 burnt to finish the 11 somewhere in Nebraska possibly or S Dakota etc. That's 11 hours. 1700 Miles Logged. Your next 11 will get to the Pacific Coast, pick a city.

Reload. Back you go NYC in about 24 driving hours or less.
