I was thinking the same about the wheelbase. You want more wheelbase for flatbed/open deck work so you can hang freight off the front of the trailer. I'd be looking into that before I bought it.

I'd take a guess its really longer and the idiot that put the ad up didn't know how to measure wheel base.
That or its a short hood. In which case, just keep on looking. The whole point of buying a 379 is for the hood. Don't buy a short hood.RET423 Thanks this. -
This is a Pete with a 220" wb -
That's a short hood. Notice the fender ends at the back of the hood.

650 is frisky in a big tractor. You will run out of your gears before you have a chance to shift. Then end up trying to stay ahead shifting by twos. Then after that thrill of playing with two, you shift by threes and really get going.
With certain transmissions you can scare your people by backwards the same. -
I'd imagine if that's what he has or 2.64's that it originally had a rockwell 10sp direct drive tranny and someone swapped it out for an 18. Being a short wb and most likely a short hood I'd say that's how it was originally set up. Just a guess.spyder7723 Thanks this.

I don't have a better side picture yet

Definitely not a short hood. I'd say the wb is not correct.spyder7723 Thanks this.

Looks like a nice ride. Bet you will be looking up that Swan's butt in no time.

I doubt it. I've owned 2. One with a 48" sleeper was 239" and one with 63" sleeper was 256"spyder7723 Thanks this.
