    This is good advice. Loaders deal with their stuff all the time. You can also get their recommendations on how most drivers secure the load. Take their advice BUT determine whether that advise makes common sense.

    Recently I hauled a couple of 4500 horsepower diesel engines. I asked for advise on how to secure them, but when I was told how "most drivers" secure them I threw that advise out the window. Most drivers turned out to be their own company drivers, probably more interested in speed to throw one chain on either side without going through the securement holes (just drape the chains over the securement hole stubs). I opted for a chain at each corner, taking the time to pull the cotter pins and feed the chain through the securement holes that were too small to get a hook through.

    Right? I'm an idiot, and no one should assume that I'm a loud mouth.

    something that is very good to know.

    The actual load center.
    Do not confuse this with the trailers center. It is not the same.

    The load center is the point where when weight is placed, the transfer is equal to front and rear. The balance point.

    It will have some factors. trailer type, length, axle set, fixed or sliders.

    A cali legal fixed axle 53 has a different load center than a 45 state trailer.

    Sliding axles can change things real quick.
    So you need to know what happens when you do move them.

    @Long FLD

    Talked about this in another thread a few days ago. I took screenshot of his post to look back on.

    Thanks everyone for the tips!

    I second alway placing the winch bar in the same place on the trailer. I normally do like @MJ1657 does. A couple weeks ago I didn't. I stopped 40 miles down the road to do my load check and my winch bar was not in my side box. It was here instead. Thank the trucker gods for air ride. 20170404_101916.jpg
