That's too much. I know that I had to learn how to back a truck and trailer when I first started driving them. But, 1 day practice and I was ready. It was just the change from semi's to truck and trailer. However, I don't understand how a driver can drive for a period of time and not be able to back the truck if needed. Even if it takes a couple of tries is better than not even trying. So my recommendation for a company would be any company that has trucks that are two axle and no long than 20 feet.
List of companies that hire drivers incapable of backing a truck.

How long do you want my truck to be? 10 more feet of frame would put it at a 360" wheel base.
And I am currently hooked to a trailer that is 10' longer with a spread axle, and have no issues with that either. Occasionally, I'll even hook to a trailer with an additional 5' to it, and as long as I don't try running I-55 through Memphis (or cross any scales along the way) then I'm fine. I'm at 13'9" pulling a dry box, which again, isn't a problem with a competent wheel man. -
Sorry man i was just given ya a little grief over how much room you had to maneuver to the dump pad. And the back window. I'm jealous about being able to look over my shoulder to see the right side of trailer. Still tho.. if you got 248 inches in a day cab... that's pretty sweet. longer than most otr sleeper trucks.

Grandpa had me backing trailers behind the lawn tractor as soon as I could reach the pedal...before I even started kindergarten. My kids will start even sooner than that:

Yeah, getting an 85' tanker into a gasoline station built back in the 20's is no big deal either. But you know what? There are drivers that ##### and moan about it.AtticusRoad and misterG Thank this.

If you can't back a trailer you should spend some time doing yard work. I drove for six months then quit. Did yard work for 3.5 years and am currently getting ready to take a road test. Yard work will teach you how to back. It may be a day cab or a mule, but you'll get the idea beaten into your head about the relation between the position and angle of your truck in conjunction with your trailer. Then it won't matter what vehicle you use when the concept is there. Just a wider turning radius is what you have to work with. Take your time and you'll be fine.
