I'm still awhile before I make a move.

But how on earth did you become the job placement guru anyways?

I thought of FL and TX, too. I have family both places, but both too hot for me right now. OTOH, my joints ache in the cold now, I guess Arthur Itis is settling in.

Of course, climate control in trucks is better now than it was back in the 1990s, so maybe I'll end up back in a big rig yet. Driver pay and health insurance are improving; if I can find a trucking job making good, steady paychecks......

....or I can just keep beating myself to death at the shop, and invest in a good desktop computer and the deluxe edition of American Trucker, or whatever it's called.

Whatever I decide, you guys will be among the first to know.

    Good luck to ya
Just avoid the ditch..... I diddt and now this thread exists for me trying to find another gig.

I have one rule tho. And I took it from grand theft auto (sorta) fail upwards. Simple as that. Yea it sucks I lost a job and I miss my large car but Ive got some good companies intrested in me in a field i want to do. Hate me some reefer. If these guys fall through Idk what I'll pull. Might stick with boxes awhile longer or go do some tank work considering I got the endorsment now

You'll be fine. They're starving for meat in the seat. I can't believe some of the sign on bonuses some outfits are throwing around. Central Transport(the yellow box trailers) always had a bit of a reputation back in the day, but the local terminal has a hiring event once a month and is offering a $5K sign on bonus! I'm like, "Seriously? CENTRAL TRANSPORT? Fleet trucks, fingerprint freight, SIGNING BONUS??". Unbelievable. Not for me, CT, but it says a lot about the current state of the industry. I keep chipping away at missusskillet's resistance to the idea. May yet get her back in the truck with me, do some H&W teaming and make some bank. Who knows? Already got some irons in the fire, I think I'll put out some more apps. Good luck to ya, can't wait to hear where you land.

I don't know, it just happened. Wasn't planned by any means. Not always the best advice probably, but try.

Upon occasion I have asked a parent to please keep their child on a leash. If nothing else at least it gets my daily arguement out of the way.
