That won't work on a Detroit, you have to pit a ton pressure in it to prime the head, your not just priming the lines but the fuel cups in the head, when the fuel transfer pump wears out it can leak back but if you look straight down from the compressor theres a plug, 3/8 plug if I remember right but put a 90 degree hose barb on it and use a suction gun full of fuel and force it up in there, have to do it twice to get it primed.
