For my scanner I use a PlusTek OpticSlim M12 Plus (I believe they're updated to a newer model now.), which is about one foot long and two inches wide. Scans full size paper to receipts without issue. I'm using it with Windows 7 now.
For the printer I use a battery operated Canon Pixma iP100. Recharge it every once in awhile. Keeps its charge pretty long. It's ink jet.
Both are compact and I carry them in a small backpack along with my HP Mini laptop. So, if I want I can take my stuff to the lounge and have something to eat and scan and print or scan and store (for backup).

I just got an HP officejet 8600, my company uses trip pack and I'm paranoid one of the envelopes will get lost one day so I want everything backed up.
I thought about just getting a scanner since I would only ever need to print should one get lost but standalone scanners are way more expensive than an all in one. -
I also need a printer
-
Yeah, and all you can do is scan in. Ya cant print anything out. So much for duplicates or printing out daily log book sheets.

Very true, however he may not need to print out. I have a scanner only. I scan BOL, Daily Logs, everything into my PC. I can always plug a printer into it, at home and print out what may be needed. I think it depends on how he runs. If he's out for long periods of time, and has to submit, fax, his reports, BOLs, ect., weekly or daily, he probably should have a printer.
The problem with the all in one, they tend to be bulky, and larger, and no the scanners are not more expensive. The one I have a Canon, CanoScan LDI was less than $100. -
OK its 2017 any new suggestion on compact wireless printers?

Hp has a new compact printer scanner. Under $70.00 at Best Buy. model 3755. I managed to get it on sale for $43.00 Canadian!! Do a Google,

I'm going to propose an idea to Transflo. It involves drivers being able to "subscribe" to service that allows them to use their send/receive terminals for personal print and scan services.
You need to print a payroll PDF stub or legal document in your email? "Send" it to your Transflo box then call it up at a send/receive terminal and print. And scan services work the same way as they do for carriers but for a more affordable personal subscription fee and can scan to an email address or fax number.Last edited: Apr 29, 2017
