2003 379 Pete Question.

    Guy emailed me a few pics of a 2003 Pete. Has a 9 speed trans, and on top of the shifter. There's 3 buttons in a triangle shape. What's the reason for the button's there?
    Also truck has a 12.7 Detroit and 255/70 22.5 tires. But he does not know the gear ratio on the axle. Also it has Rayco rearend. Its a single axle Extended hood, and has a 48 flat top sleeper 8" stacks front air ride. Its one of those custom build's. But also no longer meets the CA standards. So can't be used out there. 1.2 MIl on the truck. Engine had a total rebuild 3 years ago. Any ideal what a truck like this should sell for?
    Also i would have to fly out to check it out. And then drive it back to the east coast. OR fly back home if I did not buy it.

    I have no idea about the value but I would want to see paperwork on the total rebuild before I made that trip.

    Thanks guy's I was also thinking cruse or jake. Its factory as I have seen a few pics years ago online. But did not look close at it. Top is or looks like black rubber and 2 button's across from each other. Then at the bottom one button.
    And I agree on paperwork or proof from shop of rebuild. Way to many of those I was told it had this or that.
    Buddy if mine has a 900,000 Thousand C15 in his shop right now. Guy bought it and told it had a inframe 75,000 miles ago. Under boost its blowing oil out the exhaust.:mad: Also turbo is making 60 lbs boost.

    It should be cruise control and the jake control that you see on the shifter.
    As far as the gear ratio, ask him what RPM's it turns at say 70 MPH.
    Mine truck has 255's and has 3.08's. Turns 1500 RPM at 70.
    Previous truck had same tires with 3.21 and was closer to 1600 at 70.
    You get the idea.
    The C-15 that your buddy has sounds like its a Acert C-15 (twin turbo). They do push 60 lbs of boost.

    1300 at 60 MPH with 295/70R22.5's 12.7 Detroit with 9 speed trans. He's asking more then I think the truck is worth. Like it and for what I would be using it for. Its almost perfect for my use. Cut 3ft off the 8" stacks, or just swap them out for lower pipes. Some that are about 12" or so above the top of the sleeper.

    1.3M on the truck and engine. If he had paperwork on the engine rebuild. Price would be better. But all he has is,,, I was told when I bought it the engine was in-framed.
    Truck is on Craigslist. And I'm looking for something like it. Will be retired in 1.4 years. And only used to pull our 41ftx13'3" tall 18,000 lbs 5th wheel camper. Add a my air ride 5th wheel hitch. Fiberlgass full single wheel fenders on back. And no issues pulling any hill or better yet. Going down any grade. Retire July 10th 2018.:D And I know I could spend $70,000.oo for a Ram 3500. But it still rides like crap. And if I make it 3 hours without stopping because of the pain. Its been a good day. But in a big truck, I can still ride 10 hours with a couple of breaks in there. And lives good.
    Also hes asking $40,000. for this one.
    Thinking I will just find a short hood 379, 12.7 13 speed and put a 2.64 rear end in it. And cruse in direct. Getting good MPH. Or able to kick it into OD if I need to run faster. Also would be going back to normal Class C's. That way no Class A issues to deal with. And it would be tagged as a RV. So no commercial rules with a Camper.:D
    I don't get how people that have never driven. Can buy s semi, tag it as a RV and go run the hwy. But it happens everyday.

    Also the cat in the other truck is a 6NZ. and its getting torn down. Getting a full rebuild, as its blowing oil out the exhaust under heavy boost.
