Lot of truth right there, good point....While they're out there generating revenue for the state (just doing what they're being instructed to do), nit picking the guy that's just trying to make an honest living (read low hanging fruit), dopers are out there making thousands dealing smack, running guns, forming/increasing gangs, and killing folks....Fact is though, putting people in jail/prison costs $$$, lots of it, it's much easier to pick off the traveling public and truckers, that activity generates $$$, not cost the state $$$.

Fact, the last administration released over 1,770 federal prisoners, more than the last three presidents combined, most having been convicted federally of drug (not MJ) & weapons trafficking. The liberal media calls it "just minor drug convictions", baloney, I know the truth. Just what do you think these miscreants are going back too, honest jobs? On the state level, liberal governors/judges put these three time or more losers away for the bare minimum, if that, kinda like catch & release fishin, a round-robin of criminal activity....

Bottom line though, these DOT & SP have a job to do, and if you mess up and get caught violating DOT laws, guess what, own it, pay it, learn from it, and move on..... Quit trying to skirt it and blame others...

Question everyone. So I don't make a rookie mistake someday. You do have to pull over correct? Confused because another thread user said he drove right past them and didn't even stop? Personally, I would pull over for sure but just curious.

If the sign says all trucks pull in, then yes, you do. Sometimes they may not chase you, but if they do it can be a big ticket.

Safer for everyone to keep rolling.

Sorry officer, I missed the exit and decided that it was safer for everyone to keep going instead of stopping on the shoulder.

Your. Last. Sentence. You said f..em and went on. He say's he went back, allegedly confronted the cop who allegedly "looked scared or ashamed."
So the difference, is that you took what you got, and moved on with your life. Our OP not only could not recognize that he made a mistake, he could not recognize that he was given a break. Then he posts some blatant bull crap about the cop being "afraid." Then he comes back several times, being very defensive, because he got called out on it.

Don't be confused by someone you don't know, making what is most likely a bull crap statement on the internet. Blowhard truckers are like all other blowhards. They get diarrhea of the mouth and start talking crap.
Do your job, the way you should. If you do decide to blow on by, and get nailed for it, don't come on the internet whining about it.
If you do what you are supposed to do, you aren't likely to have very many problems. But remember, you are human, just as are all the rest of us, and your going to make mistakes, just like all the rest of us.
It is the immature individual with the attitude of "I AIN'T NEVER DONE NOTHIN' WRONG!" that sort of gets under a lot of peoples skin.

Ive seen these signs in NY also OK and SD. They represent traffic devices. They way they set them up sometimes, is incompetent not to be too verbal. I believe that if the op got a serious voilation, and it is serious; 2 like these could disqualify your CDL, then the cop should write himself a ticket too. For installing misleading traffic devices. The dash cam could resolve this dilemma. I just believe the op, the description of him getting confused and disoriented resembles my experiences too.

I pull over only when they behind me and colorful lights are shining. If I went past the scale for whatever reason, I keep going. To me there is nothing good about stopping on the side of the road and walking against the traffic 850 yards to make explanations. That's just me. But you do what you dare or dare not to do.

Just for clarification here, Joe, are you saying you deliberately blow off scales, or that if you just happen to miss one.
If you're saying you wouldn't stop if you miss one, puts a whole different light on what you're saying. Maybe I was having a brain fart, but I took it to mean that you were in the habit of running them.
