Has anyone ever heard of balancing steer tires with rubber inside?? If so can anybody provide information as to whether or not it has been proven to work

Not rubber, but I use a balancing powder called Equal. Works great, but don't get it wet.

There are a lot of balancing products on the market. For my steer tires I use Balance Masters and True Balance Centering Sleeves. I have Wide Base Singles on the drives and use Counteract Balancing Beads. I would defiantly recommend at least using balancing beads since its a lot cheaper than Balance Master and will help keep them running smooth.

I like the balancing beads better than the balance rings. SMOOTH ride, no funny wear.

I run counteract balance beads in all my tractor tires. They work great very smooth riding and wear. Will be adding them to my trailer tires whenever I put tires on it.

I have used the Counteract bead product in my drives, but I use Balance Masters on my steers combined with tire spin balance. Just changed out my steer tires that had 232,000 miles on them and still 8-9/32 tread left. No uneven wear. They had started getting a little river wear in a couple of the grooves though. Last set of my wide based drive tires did 447,000 miles with the balancing beads and still had about 8/32 tread left when I changed them out prior to winter about a year and a half ago.

I have Centramatics on the steers and drive tires and have perfect wear, balance and a smooth ride.

I believe you can't go wrong with choosing either Balancing Beads or Balance Rings.
