Im kind of over the good years now, we are witnessing factory defects on new good years on two vehicles already which are cars. I don't have anything good to recommend them for big trucks. (Side walls dish from the factory eventually they zipper fail which is a pretty explosive way to fail)
Believe it or not for me it's going to be mich or hankooks. One of the two. Both have the stick. But maybe not the mileage. Yoko has been good, but I should not have to rely on a japanese tire to do what I should do here in America.... *Grumbles...crb Thanks this. -
Okay.. here is the thing.. you have a big decision to make.. can you find a company that will hire you after a rollover...
Yes...
But, it isn't that cut and dry...
look at this way... can a person with bad credit get a loan... yes, but they will get screwed on interest...
A person with good credit can get a loan with a good interest rate.. a person with bad credit now has to deal will a whole different breed of lenders and will have a very high interest rate..
So, a driver with a rollover.. probably won't get on with a good company and earn good money... like a driver with no rollover and over a year of experience...
There are all sorts of things that get factored in along with the rollover.. work history, MVR and such... the more dings you have.. multiple job hops, tickets, accidents and rollovers all get factored in as to what companies will open their door to you..
So, you also have to ask yourself if it is worth it.. to drive a truck at a bad company for low pay or take another path... there are a lot of manufacturing jobs starting at $15 and up an hour..
If you do get on somewhere you will need to stick it out and keep clean for awhile and get some more experience and job history behind you.. so you very well could end up at a bad company with low mile for little pay for awhile...
Only you can answer if that is worth it... if so, they keep searching and applying.. if not, look at other opportunities.. also, may not want to just stick with OTR.. look at dump trucks or even garbage trucks.. they pay good.. like $18 and hour to start... -
Oops forgot to add something..
You have to look at it from the company's view.. in your rollover there were no injuries.. than goodness.. but, consider this.. a rollover with injuries.. and the company is now looking at forking out millions of dollars... around 8 million or more.. $8,000,000.00
So, there is a lot of risk prediction that goes into hiring... because when a driver has an accident the company will have to justify their decision to hire that driver and put him in a truck on the road...
Now, does having a rollover mean you will have another... it is a bigger picture than that.. as mentioned in earlier posts.. pre trips, non distracted driving, responsible, dependable, etc.
Your asking a company to take a gamble on you.. even though, that gamble has not paid off for other companies that took the gamble...
I am not speaking only about you specially... but all drivers in general... -

I worked for a major firm back in 2013. I drove for three months and had a rollover on a windy mountain road one snowy night. Flipped over a guardrail going around a tight right-hand curve.Rolled over 4 times, as I recall counting each revolution (thank Jebus for seat belts) Fired with extreme prejudice about three days later. The ticket is off my record now and I keep getting mail from trucking companies (ones I applied for in the past, and some I didn't apply to). I am pretty sure If I called them and mentioned the rollover where the truck and trailer flipped over 4 times, they'd probably tell me to have a nice day and move on. I gave up trucking and found another job. People on this board told me to find another profession cause my future on the road looked pretty bleak. I agree.
TROOPER to TRUCKER, x1Heavy, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this.
