? It's based on your mileage rate, they take .02 overall though for the "fee".
-
for me it was .16cpm I think? But that may depend on region and rate for that region.

It's a scam that saves the company money while showing less of your income on paper, so you take home about $40 more a week while sabotaging your social security benefits later on in life. Not to mention your ability to secure a loan, short-term.
Strictly a money grab by the company.Stringb8n, QuietStorm, Opus and 5 others Thank this. -
From what I understand it is required the first 90 days for new hires. Your SS is based on the last five years of your income.
-
Sure, if you opt out.
-
What do you mean if you opt out?
-
No, ss is based on your 35 highest earning years, You can work 50 years, but your top 35 earning years count, anytime your shorting yourself like per diem it'll count against youBigTennOTR, bamamac and LtlAnonymous Thank this.

Per diem isn't forced at Schneider, during orientation they have a 2hr long sales pitch for it though. The ask you to try it, but you can opt out right then by filling out a form.
-
At least when I was there (2009-2010) they gave you a mandatory trial, then you had to fill out paperwork to remove yourself from the program. I didn't make it long enough to even opt out, because the company had changed so much for the worse since I was there originally (2003-2007).
Looking back, I know the economy was bad...but I was dumb to put myself in a position to need that job.QuietStorm and slim shady Thank this.
