Securing Crane Counterweights

    The MSHA regulations are completely out of hand. You can not stand on top of a trailer, even a lowboy unless you have fall protection on. If i fall off of a 2' high lowboy i will be on the ground before the harness gets tight. They want us to land and center a 10' wide boom section by using a tag line in each corner, you are not allowed to physically touch the load.

    Old thread but I have the same load. Want to know if 5 straps, no chains over each 10 ton weight is ok. Plus a bulkhead in front of each. Manitowoc counterweights, short-about 12" tall and 8x10' wide, low and heavy. 2 weights sitting on 4x4s. Corner protection for the straps because there is an anti-slip paint on them.. Thx
