I see this as a bit of whine.
wear that #### belt and get that ##### down to 10 or less. You already have had 2 miles fair warning that there is a toll gate ahead.

Was that word supposed to be winning, or whining?
If winning, no you won't.
If whining, yes you are.
In this post you are whining about having to 'actually slow down from 65 to 5 and drive 5mph all the way through'.
Well, that IS the speed limit and you should respect that.
Do you also speed through construction zones because it is 'a free country'?
You obviously have a great deal to learn about this 'free' country.
Like, you can't just break any law you desire to break because of your 'freedom'. Not without consequences.
But that is true in countries that are not 'free' as well. Isn't it?
I don't care if it is Russia, North Korea, China or Cuba - or the USA.
Any person can do exactly as they please - until they are caught and punished for breaking the law of the land.
If they are still alive after the punishment they can continue to do exactly as they please, until...
It is not a country that gives us freedom.
It is not laws that give us freedom.
Freedom is inherent to who we are as individuals. Period.
Each of us, each individual person, has the ability to choose what they will do at any time.
It is not something that can be given, or taken away - by any one or any government.driverdriver, bzinger, AtticusRoad and 2 others Thank this. -
I never ever had a speeding ticket. But 5mph speed limit?
I bet you guys all preaching this but very few ever actually tried to go exactly 5 mph thru toll lane. I see everyone doing about 10-15. Go ahead try 5 one day see how it feels to slow down to 5 from 65.
And a "free country" comment was about seat belt use. I believe that is not any governments business to tell me to buckle up. I am not endangering others by not doing it and if I want to fly thru my windshield in case of an accident I should be free to do that. New Hampshire is the only state that gets it - "buckle up under 18".
Too bad I can't find NH only local job
Ooops Thanks this. -
Don't like the laws in this country, leave.Last edited: May 2, 2017

You really want us to sympathize over you getting a ticket for doing something you are supposed to do?
Zeviander, Big Don, Toothpick1 and 2 others Thank this. -
Man, back in the day,i used to have to stop the truck-set the brakes n either write a check or pay ca$h to the toll attendant.I thought a transponder was something on a space ship?
Hey-speaking of-sometimes the toll attendant was a cutie, sittin up high in the cab,you could look right down........oops,ill stop right there.Im sure im not the only one who remembers.Hurst, x1Heavy, Toothpick1 and 6 others Thank this. -
Its really not that hard to slow down for the toll booth, I drive an avg of 400-500 miles daily in NYS (@5mph thru toll lanes). Hopefully I don't hear about youin the news running over a toll booth operator because you care about getting tailgated for going too slow SMDHj76ny, Boattlebot and Lepton1 Thank this.

I do love the country. I do respect the laws. But if the law restrains me to the driver seat - I would rather pay. Freedom isn't free - 3 tickets in 10 years- small price to pay for freedomCousinVinny Thanks this.

If it is 5mph I go through at 5.
Is it really that difficult to get down to 5 from 15? I don't think so.
So you crawl through in 4th. What is the big deal? Really?
You lose more time by getting pulled over than you ever would be simply going the speed limit.driverdriver, Boattlebot, AtticusRoad and 2 others Thank this. -
Not looking for sympathy. I was trying to warn others but I quess everybody buckles up at all times and drives 5mph at tollbooths. The world is perfect on this site so I have nothing to worry about
fargonaz Thanks this.
