Hey guys first post here love reading the threads of heavy haul moves

On the Cat 320D FM can it be hauled on a standard RGN or is a stretch trailer required. The unit is 45 ft long with about 14 in the well and weighs 70K almost. Arm has a grapple on the end and it does not fold up for shipping from I am being told. If the machine is pulled on and bumped to the front deck you have about 15 ft of arm with the heavy grapple on it. Would you guys run this with overhang or used an extendable trailer to have the length to set the grapple on the deck? If any one can offer some insite I would greatly appreciate it.

You need a boom stand... I can haul them on a regular lowbed with a boom stand

Sometimes the grapple will fold up, almost as much as a excavator. I don't know about that particular machine though.

I have hauled a Cat scrap handler that has a similar boom. I'm able to fold it up and get to right at 14'. They should be able to fold it up on the ground wherever it is and give you a measurement.
