Pretty sure I've seen them at Flying J, TA and Petro. I'm sure Iowa 80 has them. I've never stopped there but I hear they have everything.

What is a "build in 12volt fridge"?
Truck stops have 12V coolers, but none are built in to the truck. They are stand alone units that will sit on the floor.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
True. If the OP wants a "built in" fridge (with the freezer) then normally that would be sold at a dealership. They are expensive (around $800 to start) and will be designed to fit exactly in the hole made for them.
12v coolers are a great option. Many truck stops sell them. I can recommend the Koolatron brand. Coleman isn't bad, but some folks on this forum have noted the fans burn out (and then it's best to get a computer fan to replace it).
Coolers don't do frozen foods. If you stay with fresh produce or meats you are fine.Mattflat362 Thanks this. -
I don't know of anyone that has a 12 v fridge but there are 12 v coolers I got mine at Walmart. It doesn't work anything even close to a fridge.I tried 2 of them and ended up giving them to dad for his fishing trips and went back to the ice cooler.

Sorry to hear that. What brand were they?

These are expensive, the dealer is right by the Pilot truck stop in Georgetown, KY.Studebaker Hawk, 1johnb, DoneYourWay and 4 others Thank this. -
Think it was Coleman. They don't get nearly as cold as a fridge does.Of course for a 12 v you can't expect much.Lepton1 Thanks this.

Even with my Koolatron I had to use my air hose to clean out the fan. Lots of lint gathers in there and I encourage any 12v cooler owner to periodically blow out the fan area now and then. Coleman's are notorious for having the fan fail. Replace it with a slightly larger computer fan.
All 12v coolers will only get to 40° below ambient temperature. Bear that in mind if you aren't idling in hot or cold temperatures. Your food can get warm or freeze.pattyj Thanks this. -
Just witnessed my friends brand new coleman crap out in 2 weeks!!
Lepton1 Thanks this.
