By law they can only test 1.5 inches of your hair which is 90 days. Your husband will witness the test facility cut the sample to this length. If you only ate edibles while on vacation and have never partaken on other occasions, there will not be enough thc metabolite deposited in the follicle to fail a test even if it was a month ago. There is a lot of misinformation out there about hair testing, and testing in general. If your husband hasn't started cdl school as of yet, he will have plenty of time before he needs complete the pre-employment hair test. Good luck.

I am leery of hiring people with back problems because of the abuse the body takes with some trucks and some of the work people have to do. It seems to me that you should be looking into something else, especially if he already took a leave to recover.

 

Not true... Edibles contain a lot of thc, and eating it assures that you have a high uptake rate compared to smoking. There is a fairly good chance one weekend of edibles would be sufficient enough to show greater than 50ng/ml on the gas spec. The 1.5 inch/90day average is correct, unless he is bald and they have to take body hair. Body hair can test as far back as a year due to the growth cycles.

 

THC metabolites don't bind very easily to hair. It takes consistent use to get above levels to fail the test. This is why they go back 90 days as it shows a consistent pattern of usage behavior. Occasional users, especially someone that only used once or twice will not have enough metabolites to fail a hair test.
