I was wondering if anyone has tried this.
Since all of these modern trucks are filled with noisey electronics and are a poor ground plane you can see benefits to mounting a large antenna on the trailer toward the rear.
Youd probably need one of those 102" whips or similar to see any benefit.
    Also really really good coax.

That rule is actually a lie.
    Just saying...
I tried this new cable, it blows that rg8x stuff out of the water.
Its called lmr-240 and its basically 50ohm cable with double sheild and solid copper center conductor.
My swr went from 1.4 to 1.0(burried in the left corner actaully) with the 5.5 foot francis.

You ever plan on dropping the trailer? You know it does come in handy once in a while.

Yea. Every radio shop in business within 200 miles of me tells that lie.

Do it to yours. You'll get an award for originality.

LMFAO. Haven't you got anything else to worry about?

Surely working is more important than a aerials reception LOL

Probably should have posted this in the CB forum.
Oh, and, yes, the coax length "rule" is false.
