Yeah I'm sure it's a hell of project to tackle, but i think it'll be worth it for the comfort it will add. Thank you for your reply.

Thank you, for steering the right direction.

How will you deal with the clutch linkage and the mechanical foot feed (if present). If the cab is hinged at the front mounts, there will be some movement (maybe not a lot) of the linkages. My 359 fuel pedal uses a metal rod between the pedal and the pump on the engine. If the cab was moving that would not be good to have the rpms bounce for every bump in the road. The clutch is bolted to the frame. Perhaps a larger hole in the cab floor will be adequate for that issue.
Lastly, since I have my floorboard open to replace air lines, I see a lot of lines that go to the brake valve that will now have to encounter movement and could cause chafing over time. That would also have to be dealt with.
Just thinking out loud. -
That won't be an issue. I'm not adding air ride. Just widening the sleeper hole. Thanks for the thought though.
strollinruss, Hogleg and rank Thank this. -
Peterbilt's part # (2) rings = R41-6009 (1) boot = T09-6002...... You'll be able to check prices with your local Peterbilt

That helps a lot thanks for the part numbers.
Oxbow Thanks this. -
Man it will make a world of difference. I sold my 359 and went back to a 379 with a 36" sleeper. It is nice to be able to stretch out once again. Just works better for me right now in my current situation. I still want to find a 359 to play with, but mine was too expensive to keep just for fun.

rank Thanks this. -
@W900AOwner I believe may have done a unibilt modification on his W900A recently. I know he cut the sleeper opening larger for sure though.

Yeah I'm 6'1 and need the leg room. I won't drive nothing but a Pete though. I love the old 359s too, but you're right they do get expensive, and it seems to be getting worse with the parts.rank Thanks this.
