Pigs perish in truck accident

TOQUERVILLE - An unknown number of pigs died in a semitrailer accident at approximately noon on Thursday, a quarter of a mile south of mile marker 27 on Interstate 15.
The driver, Scott Vincent Ruland, 46, an employee of TCI Transportation, was taken by ambulance to Dixie Regional Medical Center where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
TCI Safety Transportation Director Tom Roland said he had no idea where the pigs were being transported.
Roland added that he had no comment because an investigation was on-going as to the cause of the southbound traveling truck veering off the right side of the road and over an embankment.

Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Steven Clyde said in his preliminary investigation that the cause of the semi-truck tipping over was driver fatigue.

Now this was printed in The Spectrum, locally and NOT lovingly known as THE SCROTUM due to their - uh - well - let's just say that if anything they print is correct, it is a pure coincidence. . .

I think it is interesting that the company safety officer had no idea where this load was going???????????

Sorry to hear about the pigs, and your employee...hope the driver will pull through. I have quite a bit of info for you concerning a contract of TCI. If you would like to be enlightened about what your company has put my man through, write me. He was threatned and harrassed by a lead employee of tci. He was told not to contact supervisors. He went through so much grief, yet still held his head high and did his best for you, and tci, and tci's customers. He and I both know your company DOES NOT deserve a man of his ethics, work, and personal...............reply if you want to know more...We have witnesses that would be glad to talk with you................Sorry for the bad news..................just know, that my man spoke very highly of you Tom, you never did him wrong....I know he appreciates that, and so do I. Thank You
