Being OTR as soon as you set the brakes your on your 10 hour break. There is no commute, your already home.

Doing local work. My hours worked start when I walk
Out the front door till I walk back in after work.
Not the hours that they paid me for the day.

I consider it all work. Now divide those hours into your
Paycheck and your right there with the cashier who you
Buy your coffee from every morning.
Except she's not under DOT rules and regulations.

You got nothing to lose by asking for a 4 day work week.
If you can live without the extras days pay.
    They might say yes.

    Your right but most are.
I've never had or know anybody who has a local
Job in a tractor trailer who works 8 hours a day.

Even when they say it's 8 hours, that means 10 1/2
Or whenever the job is done. That's just the way it is.

This might make a few mad...but idc.....being blessed with a local job and getting off the road means you can sleep in a normal ####ing bed, somewhat have a normal ####ing life, see your kids alot ####ing more then an otr guy....if and when i go local i dont give a #### if i work 16 hours days monday through Saturday, you wont hear we ##### and complain.. if i just had one day a week at home a week i would feel ####ing great.... if you cant handle long shifts every day, there are plenty of bank teller positions open that work 9 to 5..m

Make some mad..??? No I doubt that but, some of us like myself has worked the last 33 years local & OTR. I'm very experienced at getting up at 4:30 am, fix my own lunch, my own breakfast, and drive almost 40 miles to Tyler Mountain and be there by 6:00 am. Then jump in another truck and drive nearly an hour and 45 minutes down past Big Ugly and across Six mile rd to the coal mines, work all day until dark then head back. Get home late at night wore out and everybody in bed. Yea it's a fun deal, have no clue why anyone would complain about a local job, they must be off in the head I guess. Not every local job is a pretty picture like we may think it is, but neither is being gone days at a time.

I'm not mad..Come on in! try the kool aid.If you wanna relocate, message me.
We have an opening for one of these gravy routes.
Its Monday-Friday,and you WILL be pushing more soda than you ever thought possible.
Rotating stock, cleaning stock rooms, fighting insane traffic, but its pretty easy.
Did I mention that sleep thing, and the two and from work thing?
    Cant remember,but I'm a snowflake like that.
    Git sum!!!:)

Because we're in slow h2o hauling season (DOT posted roads to certain springs) I'm knocking back 7.5, 9 if I get stuck in the off load line. I might work 6 days a week, but they're fairly short right now, plus I'm OT eligible after 40, and it beats the living #### out of sleeping in a truck.

I'm sure most every trucking job I have after this... probably won't compare. And i say that only because my intention is to head to the Pac-NW in about a year.

A job is often what you make of it. Perspective is a subjective thing; but there are, indeed, objective qualities which could make anyone dislike a particular gig.

Get a customer service manager (not a teller). They're better paid, more mature and usually pretty good looking. <experience> ;)
