it just depends on what part of oklahoma you live in. i had a buddy of mine over here that lived in virginia and bought some land out there and they would let him take his hometime out there every once in a while. when he finally sold his place in virginia and moved there they offered him regional out of texas but he would have to leave the truck in ft worth and drive his vehicle back and forth for hometime he just quit and went to work somewhere else hope this help you
oklahomagirl Thanks this. -
yes it did help. thank u very much. i actually live outside of tulsa. which of course is close to many interstates. he is still on the probation period right now and has to go where they send him. that makes me feel alot better. i would drive to ft. worth in a heartbeat to pick him up

Well, after thinking long and hard about doing school versus getting a cdl on my own, I applied and was accepted to Millis school. I couldnt get in the November 10 school in georgia so I am scheduled for December 8. I was told that if someone dropped out or cancelled before the November school was started that I would be sent then. I want to thank the people on this forum for helping me make my decision. I was going to just get the CDL on my own. I can drive a truck. I drove grain trucks years ago on our farm but after reading the post here, I knew that driving was only part of the job. I know very little about logging, trip planning, dealing with shippers and receivers or dispatchers. This is what I hope to learn in school. Thanks again for your help.

when i was training there mostly ran east of mississippi river with very few runs west but that was 3 years ago and nice thing they don't carry chains so any runs west go the southern route I10 to I 5 ect

I recently applied with Millis. How long does it take for them to process the application and get back to you?
