I've had one yesterday and one today both in the construction on I35 south of Austin. Words cannot desribe how much I hate the stretch between Fort worth and San Antonio

Picked up load in Alabama, sent message with new ETA that is later than appointment, load turned into relay in ATL. New assignment pick up relay, at least this one can be done on time.
Getting assignments with tight schedules that unless the Stars and Moon align just right will be late, makes sometimesfeel like a setup for failure but usually "you're the best driver available in the area."91B20H8 and SingingWolf Thank this. -
Had a water load in the last week or so that had an appointment time of 0330. I didn't get the assignment until after 1000. However, was a drop and hook to be done after I finished my first run and picking up later in the day wouldn't be a problem.
Why have an appointment time if it's a "grab it when you can" window? -

Nashville. Currently at volunteer express terminal, waiting for them to unload half of my trailer. I think they may be out looking for volunteers or something. Been an hour and a half here so far and first stop took less than five minutes to unload the first half. I figured in the spirit of volunteering I'd ask if they had a pallet jack or something and if I could unload it myself but no luck...
Yesterday was definitely a record mile setting day though. Doubt I'll be breaking the new record anytime soon, as long as I'm driving a 63mph truck anyway.
SingingWolf Thanks this. -
And at TA Nashville for a reset. According to RM I managed 3758 miles in the last 7 days. Not too shabby, actually paid for vast majority of that.
Took 3 hours for volunteer express to unload half a trailer. In that time I got two recruitment cards. Apparently I can drive up to 2800 miles a week and I'll start at a generous 40cpm. Home weekly, so can't knock that, but really? I could have started recruiting them instead.
