Some of you guys need to start hauling bikes. There's good money to be made and I'm sure you all could provide better service then at least 1 company. While maintaining the cheap rates we're being charged.

Hauling? You need to start riding them, if you have the opportunity. That'll give you a lot of respect for the big rigs
BigTennOTR Thanks this. -
The local Motorcycle assembler around here pays like $17 an hour to move new bikes around. Obviously, I love bikes but will not take a pay cut and move to the big city just to deal with all the hassle of moving motorcycles around. Motorcycles are just a freight claim waiting to happen.
For those that don't know, most motorcycles are shipped from the factory in crates and have to be assembled. Since this takes a lot of space and personal. Most motorcycle dealers farm this work out to companies that specialize in it. $17 is what the local assembler pays around here and this company is always advertising. For that price you will be loading, strapping, and jockeying around bikes all day as well as babysitting some very large claims. I have done it, and don't see where that price justifies doing it again.
New HD is shipping with Schneider I think? -
I fail to see how your getting paid $17 an hour. When your the O/O. Cuz all of us that are having our bikes shipped. Are paying around $600. If we're using a company that hauls bikes regularly.
The dealer told me they charge $750. And all they do is list on uship. I got 1 quote on uship. $1000 from a logistics company. 2 weeks to pick up and 30 days to deliver. On an open trailer.
I got to thinking when i was OTR. About a company that only hauls bikes. Once in a blue moon i would see one of their trucks. Did a google. Called them up. And hired them. Now it's wait and hope it all works out.
