Oh it was good but the thing is getting through Atlanta traffic. I was in that traffic for an hour and half and when I got to the empty trailer I had two hours left. No way I was going to make it back through that rush hour traffic and rain in time to pick up this trailer and find a spot to call it a night. So I let them know and they said I could pick it up in the am well went there and they were closed and it was a weekend and I asked them are they sure I can get in there because I know most shippers are closed on the weekend. They said yes so I called it a night and went there and couldn't get the load because they were closed. They had their hours wrong so they took the load off of me and had me sitting for five hours and then gave me a load. Five hours wasted off my clock. They said it was hard finding freight going into Florida on a weekend and it was my home time. Come to find out this load has been ready to go to Florida for two days. So they just lie and lie and lie and I had enough of it.

Well me too lmao. I just look back at it and laugh. Now I know what to look for and have a place to askquestions now. Once again thank you guys so much and I will take all of y'all advice and apply it and hopefully I'll be back on the road this week or next week. Just not with these mega carriers. Lol

Florida Beauty Express runs teams to California and back. Lots of stop pay due to mulitple stops delivering live plants. Shouldn't have any trouble being home for reserve drills because one of their benefits is unlimited time off between runs without fear of losing your job.
One new cdl grad that went there said his first week he make $1700 and ran from Miami to California to New York and back to Miami.
Another new cdl grad got a job with Florida Beauty Express driving a box truck and home every day.
Another one got a job driving a box truck for Twiss Transport just running around Florida. Their website says 1 yr. experience required, but they hired him right out of school.

Southeastern Freight Lines hires new cdl grads for dock/driving combination. I think they have terminals in Tampa & Orlando.

Maybe for box trucks it's different but Twiss does not hire new class A drivers.

Yea I found that out last night. I tried applying to FBE but it wouldn't submit the application. I'll try calling tomorrow. What are you guys thoughts on Prime?

Prime is a good starter company just avoid the lease purchase program.

Prime is good if you can pass their pre-hire requirements. They are strict on work history, background check, etc. I can't imagine them getting you home weekly though, especially not in Florida.

Well I would love to get home weekly. I'm down for every two weeks of need be. As long as I get home in time for drill that's all that matters to me. I will not and can not miss drill. I've had an impeccable career in the Army on the Active side and want to continue that with the reserves. Would I like to come home weekly or nightly of course. Who wouldn't. But sometimes in life you gotta face facts. And I know the reality of this industry. The last carrier I saw problems getting home so I left. Now I have one more question for you guys. I don't know if you know the answer or not but doesn't hurt to ask. With me having weekend drill and me starting another company what do you think the training will be like. I know with one month experience that won't be enough to do a few days of orientation and a road test and get my truck. So more than likely I will have to go with a trainer for weeks at a time. Do you think it will be a problem during my training getting me home for my weekend drill? I know once I'm done I may not get the same trainer. Just wanted some thoughts if you guys ever seen or heard of this type of situation. Also thinking about TMC.
