When I was considering going to West Side Transport out of Cedar Rapids, I took the time to talk to 7 of their drivers. Every #### one of them had great things to say about West Side. I never heard a #### thing good about Heartland.

I used to work for a great company.. Gordon Trucking.. you may have heard of them.
Was there 5 years. When they announced the sale to heartland my heart stopped.
Of course heartland assured us nothing would change...
What a joke... Miles went from 13k a month to 7 k a month. 2 months of that and i was gone.
Everyone i knew there is gone.longbedGTs, Western flyer, mjd4277 and 2 others Thank this. -
We appreciate you letting us know. Certainly, we wouldn't ask you to tell us who said what, but what were some of the things that you gathered about our company? I'd be hopeful that we can use that review as a way to potentially improve.
-
It would be EASY for you to improve. Let me ask you this, do you work at the Heartland terminal off of I380? I can tell you what to do.
-
Sorry to know that. We hope you're doing well. While we do what we can to get drivers their miles, we've found what continues to be a successful balance between miles and pay. It's why we're still around after 39 years.
-
Personally, I do spend much of my time there, as well as many of our other 20 terminals around the country.

Great companies never have to advertise... you know why because they never lose anybody and when they do need additional help Word of Mouth from the drivers goes a long way

Look out a window to the west. See the West Side Transport trucks going by??? That is the company you want to be like if you want content, productive drivers. West Side essentially pays me a salary. I do give some things up. It is forced dispatch and no pre pass for tolls. As long as they commit to my weekly pay amount, my 70 is theirs. It works very well for both of us. I had to rescue an automotive load from a driver who ram out of hours. It cost me miles, but did not hurt my paycheck. I take care of their needs and get paid to do so.... Every week!
-
Fair point. Thankfully, we're not taking this responsive and open approach for damage control, however.
Can't we simply serve as a resource? A window into how our company fits together for our drivers? My personal feeling is that this is a preferrable and healthy way of doing business (in any industry). -
How many of your drivers are around for more than a year?? 6. Months??antoinefinch and drvrtech77 Thank this.
