Where in Harrisburg? Store or vendor?

It's actually in Mechanicsburg,Pa. I don't presently work for the private fleet yet. It's a d.c for my current job. -
You are right in that wal mart is concerned about their online business but the RMs are telling many drivers that Amazon is the sole reason for all these changes. Like us taking on Dollar General, we have showed up too late for that race with Amazon. Besides, all of our online freight delivered by truck is like less than 2 percent..not enough to make tese changes. As far as not going the way of KMart...our numbers are ahead of analysts and our peers...astronomically in some cases. This is corporate ways 101...it is not enough to maintain, corporations must grow in all corners. Our on time delivery was 99% with FLW....better than now! The impetus of thse new rules is.....you guessed it...the Optimiser. Why??? It isn't working. With the money and time they have put in to it, it has failed and like all good corporate execs, they have to make it look like it is working or lose their high paying jobs. Word is...make it work anyway possible. So do away with program runs, bids, flw, assigned trucks and....brace yourselves for next month....EWW. Best....or easiest ...way to do this, get rid of senior...or high paid...drivers and get a high rate of turnover to keep every one in a cloud. All good things must come to an end and walmart transportation is no different with non of the senior drivers caring o go to bat for the younger drivers who really seem to be willing to take whatever the company wants to spon feed them. I suppose this is just the state of trucking..lot different than the 70S. On a merier note, drivers are alreadyexiting and they are hiring in prep for a large exodus so you young guys might want to go to the website and sign up...good luck all
foggy, cemoore, TransplantBadger and 1 other person Thank this. -
Doesn't it feel good to say all of that without some snitch turning you in for having an opinion like the FB patch? Thanks for bringing your words here chewy. It's nice to hear from other WM drivers instead of swifties asking how to do a pretrip to get hired here. Please spread the word, I think this type of stuff needs to be in the open to stop good drivers from leaving good jobs.
TransplantBadger Thanks this. -
Does sound like a folk band from the 70'S DONT IT

Well, looks like we shook some bushes over at amazon. They announced today they are buying a grocery chain that was having some trouble. This puts them in the brick and mortar store business for the first time. As they have no experience in groceries, they should either get off to a slow start or fail miserably. What do you guys think??
BackIsSore Thanks this. -
Do you recall all the years of them saying brick and mortar are dead? Now look at them. They want a piece of that ebt business that we have. Whole Foods won't be as expensive as it was for long.

I've been able to buy groceries for the last several years, including perishables( ice cream), from Amazon, with two hour delivery. I'm in a major market , so this isn't widespread across the country. And they've had some experimental physical stores in the northwest for some time. Amazon is the one rattling the chain. Everything we are doing is a response to them.

Amazon is so far ahead of Walmart all we can do is just get a little bigger piece of the pie I mean they lead us by 32% in e commerce, I personally don't care for amazon usually the products I have bought aren't as described and the returns are a hassle too, I'm not gonna worry until they say the fleet is being done away with.
