Some weeks I spend nothing at all. I cook at home and freeze meals on the weekend.
Many canned foods for backup and the occasional Arby's using my rewards points..
If you have a fridge-freezer in the truck you can eat better and spend very little.
I do a lot of things on the smoker at home.It keeps well and nothing like a some good BBQ on the road.
Plus I can hit about anywhere I want to park and be well prepared.
The Dollar store for my canned food, plates,bowls,spoons,forks,ect....
spending money on the road?

when possible, i;d find a deli, or sandwich shop that had some sort of parking, either street or in a mall.
sandwiches are bigger and better. i can recall a few delis being across the street for a truckstop or two, id stop at for fuel and sleep time. -
After I had to pay a measly $20 Delaware toll( which was $1 for cars) I was pissed and told my dispatch manager if they didn't have an ezpass for me at my next terminal that I absolutely did not carry enough cash for any other tolls and that I would have to go through unpaid and there wasn't anything I could do. It was at my next terminal in 2 days when I arrived. They really don't care about having you pay while u wait for reimbursement.Truck tolls are nuts and I #### sure wasn't going to pay.x1Heavy and augiedoggie41 Thank this.

Based on your destination anywhere from $200 - $10000 depending on your bad habits.augiedoggie41 Thanks this.

I feel like unions are dying but if anybody needs them it's truckers just from my observations.

I don't go crazy out here, but I do eat well from time to time. I work my f'n ### off and the days are long so if I want a Porterhouse or NY strip steak for dinner, rest assured I'll be having it...
Try buying at a Wal-Mart, you'll get used to where they are after a while. Truck stops gouge the F outta people on pretty much everything so shop smartEZ Money and augiedoggie41 Thank this. -

What happens if you go through unpayed? Does it fall on the driver or company?
-
Of course the company could try to give you #### but legally the vehicle is registered to them so it's their penalty- cut and dry. I also wouldn't give any toll collector my drivers license. Any company trying to make it ur problem is when I get the labor board involved and then they will make sure it goes right back to the million dollar company who decided to leave company costs up to drivers/employees who aren't making ten cents compared to national companies. I've taken 3 companies to the labor board and won each time. I've never gotten a lawyer. An employee does not have the resources a company does- and they know thataugiedoggie41 Thanks this.

As long as you have company approval to run the toll road they'll pay it. If you decide to run it on your own though and they want you to run another route, it's on you. I did that the other day. Delivered in Elyria, OH and the company routed me to Columbus and up 71 to a bunch of state routes. The much easier way is to run 69 out of Indy to Fort Wayne and run 24 into Toledo to the turnpike. I just ate the $15 toll and made my life a lot easierpassingthru69, augiedoggie41, driverdriver and 1 other person Thank this.
