Incentive Transportation of Stone Mountain, GA, DOT number 445975, has 10 drivers. They went through a federal compliance review (proper name for a federal audit) in January, 2008. They were fined a paltry $3,800.00 for failure to do random testing as mandated. They have an extremely high out of service rate, both driver and vehicle, with the driver O/O/S rate being much higher than the vehicle O/O/S rate, which could possibly indicate some loads that are 1,800 miles and must be completed in 3-hours if you get my drift. The FMCSA has indicated to all states that when their vehicles enter a(n) inspection/weigh station that all their drivers and vehicles should be pulled behind & inspected.

It also appears (but not definite) that they may also see another C.R. (Compliance Review) shortly if they don't clean up their O/O/S rate. If this happens it will be because the driver O/O/S/ rate has not improved, and their vehicle O/O/S rate has become worse. If this happens they will probably (depending on the severity of the carriers actions, or lack thereof) receive a(n) conditional or unsatisfactory safety rating, be fined quite a bit, & if unsatisfactory, be issued an out of service order for their fleet for at least 15-days. If this happens and you are on the road, you will be told by the carrier to stop where you are, and do not move. Out of Service orders usually begin at noon.

All the above information is public record.

From a retired federal DOT official.

Wow, that's an amazing amount of information! Would you happen to have the same type of info about Roadrunner Transportation out of Milwaukee? Or maybe you can tell us how to find this type of info for ourselves. I'd really appreciate knowing if I'm stepping in a hole by leasing on with them, like it appears that leasing to this bunch would be. Thanks

I'm not giving you my passwords the FMCSA forgot to take off when I retired that allow me to go places you can't on that website.

Roadrunner Transportation, Cudahy, WI DOT#170247; pretty high driver O/O/S rate, trucks to be inspected at the coups (see the ISS-D part), was fined $54,000.00 last January for false logs, one driver put O/O/S & fined in Texas last March for use/possession of alcohol.

You can find all this & more on the site.

One of, no I'd say the worst mistake I've made to date was signing on with Incentive Transportation. Check out their Web sight but don't believe a word of it and none of what you see.
Looks like they use a Werner Enterprise rig at the top of the page.
They don't have contracts with non of the companys they list and the 27/7 non forced dispatch is non existant.
Even though they are registered with DOT to operate out of Stone Mountain,Ga., their logo on my truck says McDonough, Ga., But I send my paperwork to an address in Santa Clarita, Ca.
They don't own any power units, and have about 10 poorly maintained trailers.
Don't have any maintenance facilities, even thou they sent out a letter to all the drivers as a reminder to perform our inspections properly because we will be held responsible for any new damage to their equipment that is not mentioned in our inpsection. And also to inform us of a new state of the art trailer maintenace facility that they just opened. No one seems to have the address to this new facility.
They say they will pay you 80% of the gross while pulling their trailers.
You pay: Tolls, scales, $120.00/wk primary liability insurance, and prepass which is optional. The prepass is no good for the reasons Psanderson stated. I could have 17k in the box and get pulled in so they can check my logs and registration. They are good about not paying UCR taxes.
Once I was in Tx. and a state trooper going in the opposite direction swung around and pulled me over to do a full inspection.
Incentive is what I call a Brokers broker. They get loads off a loadboard the same as anyone with their own authority and that means the amount being posted for that load has already been done between shipper and a broker. That leaves only the money for the driver that hooks to that load.
Well partner, that's what you get the 80% of.
I find myself sitting alot like I am right now in NM. because I refuse to pull loads for .78/.88 cents a mile. I've decided that the next load or how ever many loads it takes me to get back to Fl. will be the last load I pull for them. If I don't just drop their trailer here and bobtail home.

If you don't want your 80 % or prepass for weigh station or toll pass or escrow or diesel paid on the load your using at that time or 24/7 dispatchers or bonuses every three months or pass DOT and get a bonus I now have every thing here that I'm talking about with Risinger brothers transfer out of Morton il other than the 80% which I never received but I'm in a much better place running legal and loving it.
