Boyd Brothers would be a good choice. Mcelroy hauls a lot of building materials. But Boyd is the best out of maverick, mcelroy, melton, tmc, and of course the scag companies of flat bedding

As long as you pay, you're good.

I'll put in a vote for BTC. Worked with them for close to three years.

With you being right close, they have plenty of options for you once you get into the company.

You might also check with Jordan in Natchez or Summerford near Dothan. D.Mosley pays percentage but also hauls a lot of broker loads that can be low pay if you are on percentage. McElroy has slow underpowered trucks.
    Good Luck

I don't have any friends that tarp. I also don't have any friends that go to a pipe yard.

Make yourself valuable, find a mom and pop outfit that has good customers and you won't ever have to tarp.

I've tarped 2 loads in my life and they were both done as favors. They were from some expensive turbine company going 10 miles down the road because they couldn't have road debris.

But they had cranes to do the tarps because they knew there #### was valuable. They wouldn't let you leave their vacuum until it was tarped.

I also only ever did one pipe yard job because I was taught, don't do it. Well I did one as a favor and spent 12 hours loading at Womble and 3 more to get it inspected by a 3rd party seller and 4 more at the end customer.

It's easy to say no if you make yourself in demand and provide a good service.

But ####, if you can't make yourself valuable, then just be a number and ####

I trained at Jordan for a bit. They were a good company. Your going to tarp there and you'll see a lot of Gerdau/Amerasteel. Talked to some Buchanan company guys who seem pretty happy.
