How can you tell? lol My trainer at my first gig said he had to unload a load of tires one time. Said his trainee refused to help. Said it about killed him.

I did the recycling for two years. It takes 3 people about 3-4 hours to load a trailer. If it is hot you can add maybe 2 hours to that. Tires are full of many things, mud, water, snow, ice etc. Loading them in a van sucks. Keep at least a gallon or more of water with you at all times.

Car and light truck tires you can get 900+ in a 53. Semi tires you can get about 300-350 depending on the size.

Now think about this, you are picking them roughly 5' off the ground to get them in the trailer and 8+' to stack them in the trailer. There is a trick to maximizing the trailer. You must stack them to the roof or no sense in loading the trailer.

Tires will range from 20-150+ pounds each. You will or can get about 35k on a trailer if stacked properly. You will build up stamina and get faster but the issue you will have is finding a good helper and keeping them.

Sorry guys but food service is ##### work compared to recycling tires.

I used to deliver tires on a discount tire account out of Grand Prairie. Unloading wasn't really that difficult, just bounce/roll one tire at a time out of the truck. Once you get the angle that your throwing it down to the shooter tire it goes pretty smooth.
But loading used? No way you'll be able to quickly stack to the ceiling, the warehouses use a special lift platform that lifts the workers up about 3 feet for the upper tires on each stack.
