2 years yard driver = how many years road driver experience?

It will count if you're looking for another Yard Hostler position, but for a Local or OTR, it may not be considered actual "Real World" experience.

let me give you an example. I have 6 years experience, the last 2 1/2 years local. I had trouble going back over the road because I didn't have one year otr experience in the last three years. 6 years experience but not enough in the last three years to qualify. Insurance companies are pushing these requirements and I talked to several companies with the same requirements.

Also you might have something in your favor staying at a trucking company two years.

 

You just tell them you have more experience driving in reverse than most in forward! lol

Had 11 yrs with local driving. Ended going back to swift and they counted it as 4 yrs.
