I often wonder what the geeks and nerds will do when it all goes south?
The people who can't thread in a light bulb straight. The "useless eaters."
No phone,(Imagine that,) computer, electricity. Gas service and water is out. No petrol, too.
It's in there; just no juice for the gas station pump - well, their pump, anyway.
Would be a good idea to get a small manual shift car/truck to be able to pop start it if necessary.
(Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!)
Oh, and - got her number; I might have a tune-up she could do.AModelCat, Rusty Trawler and Alaska76 Thank this. -
I don't know if you want her doing your tuneup. You see the size of the tools she prefers to work with? Or maybe that's not a problem for you. I don't know.

The real problem is that is a plumbers tool, but then again, she is there to fix the plumbing, right?

Bad advice.
Some idiot will end up causing a fire by trying to get the starter working by bypassing the solinoid, 1000 amps through a small wire will give you a nasty burn and short out. -
Encourage not discourage.
I doubt people would wrap the wires on a starter like a christmas present, then that would cause a fire. -
Mr. Ridgeline really does like to throw cold water on hot ideas.apparently he's lost his spirit of adventure.

Rusty Trawler Thanks this. -
In the old days all you needed was a screw driver... whats with all the wire.
I know they changed the wiring to make it better...Rusty Trawler Thanks this. -
Yes, Big Don, ADVENTURE!
Like the time I jumped my 1969 Chevy 1 ton 4x4 Pickup with a screwdriver, and it was in gear.
That was an adventure! Shoulda seen them run! Even the dogs ran!
Lucky it got sideways over a six foot hedge and stalled out, with nothing damaged but my pride.Last edited: Jun 8, 2017
Big Don and Rusty Trawler Thank this. -
NO Mr Ridgeline had enough adventure in his life, like when I was sleeping next to a KW 900L with starter problems and the driver did the same thing, took a cheap set of jumper cables, ran one end to the batteries and he snaked one end up to the started and hit the starter post of a starter that was jammed, this in effect shorted the wire out. Because he could not get it off the post, it melted the insulation and started one hell of a fire that burned his truck down to the ground and damaged the truck on the other side (that guy was in the shower and came back to a melted hood and broken glass). I was criticized for getting up when the screaming started and moving my truck instead of getting out with my fire extinguisher to try to put out the fire - no one else did that by the way, they were all quick to stand there and feel sorry for the guy.
See I also know that if you are trying to jump a starter at the starter post with a screwdriver in a small space, you may end up welding that screwdriver to the posts and heating it up to the melting point of the metal and that too can cause a fire - this is experience talking. Not to forget is you want to get a nasty burn, try to take the screw driver off the posts while it is glowing - that I have not tried but have seen when someone tried to get a forklift started.
Safety First Guys!Big Don Thanks this.
