I took over the payments on one that was heading for repo. Never do that again. It was a maintenance nightmare, like @Jarhed1964 suggested. The guy ever maintained it, everything was worn out. I got rid of the truck after eight months.

Yeah if they can't make payments they sure haven't been keeping it up.

A couple years ago, I heard Kevin Rutherford say exactly that. Oddly, I ran into a few O/O's over the next few months who had picked up repoed trucks and guess what? Kevin was absolutely right. I know a lot of folks don't like KR, but he was spot on with this one. Everything from bad transmissions, burned out clutches, torn belts, cracked and broken fans, etc....

More common sense than anything I guess.

If it was or wasn't taken care of it would show up in the front end from a lack of grease. Maybe have an alignment shop look at it. They'd be able to tell.
    Certainly looks good.

How much you think the shop will cost for full check up and inspection service
Because I'm thinking to take it if I get the truck and what good shop can give me reports for full inspection ?

OK here is how you do this. No matter if it is a repo of not, you take $1000 and put it on the side.

Then you get a dyno with blowby done to see what the condition of the engine is in, it also tells you what power is it producing - percentage of the rated power that is.

Then you have a dealer check it from front to back, and they can pull oil samples for you to get an Oil Analysis done,

While it is there, you get a full ecm dump and look for differences in the odometer and the ecm, any trboule codes that are there and the firmware to make sure it is up to date.

AND before you leave the dealer, have the pull the records of the truck which should include the original order for the truck - sometimes includes the name of the first purchaser and any records of work done within the dealer's system.

Test driving it is the last thing.

IF You can not afford to do any of this - in my opinion you should not be buying a truck.

A front end shop would only be $300 or less.

My words also. It's a clanging fire bell alarm to me. Don't buy that thing.

You wont believe what is possible when you purchase that wallet cash burning parasite.

It may not be a bad / neglected truck.

    Case in point (below):

Someone just whispered in my ear about a 2008 Prostar with Cummins motor that "may" become available. Apparently was owned for 3 weeks before owner was diagnosed with Anaemia (from lack of Haemoglobin). Dude is laying in hospital getting weekly transfusions and may have to walk around pulling an oxygen tank. Doctors say it's a "slow death". That may end his CDL life. What happens if thats true?....

    • Owner may have to list truck for sale...
    • If truck not sold ASAP, then truck may end up being repoed.
Maybe second outcome is how OP's (@Mahertruck) truck ended up on the lot.

Note: Personally, I would not buy the "whispered" truck. I'm sensitive to Karma. This kind of scheming is not me.
