Good Night From II

I'm in a '17 Cascadia.

It wasn't long after my last post that I got a load.
PepsiCo going to Sam's Club DC in Loveland, CO.

I went back to the terminal for an mt but I had to wait an hour before I was sent the trailer number, along with the dispatch.
Could have been worse.

I'm across the street from the Little America in Flagstaff now. Much easier parking in this lot.
We'll be stopping at the Love's in Grand Junction, CO tomorrow night, then on to Loveland Monday morning.

 

Stopped there last week to get coolant hose replaced ... the main parking lot was minefield. It was all tore up.

 

Noted.

We left the yard with our Tbar. Got called back by the time we got to wickenberg. Picked up a load off someone who broke down. Got aluminum headed to Boeing around Seattle. 3000lbs. It's just in cardboard boxes

We are just coming up on Kingman now. So much for my weekend in Vegas.

 

Blew the hose from the compressor to the condenser ... part comes in tomorrow ... so hotel tonight. Was miserable in the truck last night.

 

Ouch. That sucks. Had the coil go out on my first flatbed truck. It's not fun to say the least.

Sumner WA. Delivered 4 out of 5 stops but Boeing won't let me deliver till tomorrow. Got lumber to Riverside after that.

 

We delivered in Denver this morning then headed for the terminal for a b-service.
On the way there Lorelei told me she wanted to get off the truck and go back home, so I diverted there before I put the truck in the shop.

She lasted about a week last year, too, and I was sorry to see her go.

It didn't turn out like last year however.
About 4 hours later she called me to say she made a mistake and asked me to come get her. She had a brain malfunction when we got back in town and she missed home - until she actually started sitting around there again.
So she is back with me on the truck, and happy as a clam.

Not long after we parked at the TA I got a phone call from ECT asking what was happening with my truck. I said that I just got it out of the shop and was about to call to reset my PTA for tomorrow morning.
He told me that he really needed a load covered and asked if I would do it.
Loveland, CO Sam's Club to a store in Grand Junction that delivered tomorrow night at 2200. (Yuk! Right? I guess no one was willing to take it.)
Then he would deadhead me back to Denver and find something else for me.
He gave me a couple options for loads out of Denver.

So after the Grand Junction load I'll be headed to Aurora, NE. (The other option was Laredo, TX - which I didn't want.)
It's short, but it heads me east a bit and, I think, into a different planning area.
And it gets Lorelei to a new state to increase her patch collection. (Iron on patches this time around. We'll get a jacket to put them on when her time on the truck is over.)

 

Delivering in Riverside, picking up in Fontana, and heading to Brigham City UT.

Gonna stop by the house quick on the way up.

I'm 1/2 mile from my pick up in the morning. Nice.

I had a nice surprise from the planner of that Sam's load.
He put me in for an extra $45 pay. I got the QC message earlier today. It wasn't something I was expecting or something he had mentioned.
He had also dispatched me bobtail so I wouldn't need to find an empty.
Nice guy!

 

ExxonMobil Beaumont TX.

I'm not liking this place. This is a preloaded trailer that was supposed to be picked up between 1700 and 2359 last night. I called ECT to reach out to the CSR and confirm load is ready and I was told that load is a little behind. (Red flag)

I call at 1800 and was told that load should be able to get picked up between 0001 and 0300. I'm then told to make sure to pickup load by 0300. So I show up here to check-in (it's 0200), get my truck inspected by the gate guard (inside and out), and proceeded to shipping/receiving. I give the nice lady my p/u info and she asks me "What time was your pickup window?" I tell her and this slight look of disgust comes across her face, which she tried to hide with a smile. I said "Load still isn't ready huh?" Before she could answer, an ExxonMobil employee walks in and says "You will be lucky if your load is ready by 12 noon"

FML....

 

Awesome ... take a 10 and bank the detention pay.
