in mostly all the petes I've seen are only up to 130km/h. Only seen those odometers for trucks built after 2001 (speaking for canadian trucks) our 99 has the 130km one
never been in a early 379 so i dont know if that is the factory odometer. something you experienced guys would know

I fixed an air leak with today for a whooping cost of $0.0001 (replaced the 0-ring)
Then she blew a front drive brake chamber (all rusted out)...I'm debating if to have a truck mechanic to do it, or I should just man-up

Didn't you buy your overalls like I mentioned to you that you will need when you get a truck ? That was one of the first things on your "to do list", I mentioned besides the other stuff. Now you will have first hand knowledge on being an O/O. Btw, what's this thing you speak of calling a mechanic just to do the brake chamber ? Get your hands dirty, let your truck know your taking care of her first hand. Brake cans/chambers can be done with your eyes close. "You tube" can be your friend for beginners.....

Basically its a very sharp hot knife set up on a roller. You mount the tire on it and rotate the tire and the knife makes the tire perfectly round. And ya it sounds crazy to cut a couple 32nds off a brand new tire, but a round tire last a lot longer than an out of round one.Oxbow, austinmike, G13Tomcat and 3 others Thank this.

I went down to my local Peterbilt dealer and got these. They seem to be of good enough quality, and are much better than what was on there! For the record the part number is: 17570BLT
I wrenched for about 10 minutes and had the belts nice and snug. They look great!
@Diesel Dave I took that speedo pic a few days ago when I was out there last. It was that and the vin. Here are the rest of the pictures, and yes, she does need a bath! Now, the work begins, and I will be needing lots more input so please keep it up. I will update as often as I can.
I was able to get the truck up and running today and then across the county to my place. It is out in my yard. I did notice a few things, like lights and a few other small things that need to be addressed, so I got those things ordered up.
Next is to dig my lowboy/RGN out of the shop. It is buried in the shop with all kinds of random stuff sitting on top of it. Its a pretty big job, but I can wait to hook it all up! I know someone mentioned it and I'm not sure if you did it or not, but I'd replace pretty much all rubber hoses. That's what I do whenever I get a new truck. If they don't look brand new, I just replace them. Pretty easy and it's cheap insurance for the road. 90% of the time, it's the rubber that will leak or burst on the road.

If it's been sitting a while you may want to change out the quad seals in the timing advance. The diaphragm in the Afrc. They tend to dry out over time. What ever you do, don't completely remove the screws out of the pump. No matter what turkey tells you too.
